Connect WhatsApp
Bring WhatsApp messages into EngageBeast.
What you need first (important, WhatsApp is the most involved one)
- A phone number that is NOT currently used on the regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app (it needs to be free to use for the business platform), OR your existing WhatsApp Business number that you are ready to move over
- A Meta Business Portfolio (Meta's business tool). If you do not have one, the connect flow will help you create one.
Steps
- 1Go to Channels and click Add channel.
- 2Click Connect on WhatsApp.
- 3A Meta window opens. Log in with your Facebook account.
- 4Follow the prompts to select or create your Meta Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business account.
- 5Add and verify your business phone number (Meta sends a code to confirm it).
- 6Approve access and finish. Your WhatsApp messages will flow into EngageBeast.
Why this matters
WhatsApp is stricter than the other channels because Meta treats business WhatsApp as its own system. The main thing to get right is the phone number: it must be available for the business platform. If you try to use a number already active in the normal WhatsApp app, it will not work until that is handled during setup.
If you get stuck
The most common issue is the phone number already being tied to a personal or business WhatsApp app. Use a fresh number, or be ready to move your existing one when prompted. If you do not have a Meta Business Portfolio, the flow walks you through making one, it is free.
